Requirements to meet the Criteria for the Judges Lists as recommended by 'The Judges Working Party Report'

'C' List
Breed Specialist
1. For aspirant judges who have shown an interest in the breed.
2. To have been involved and owned/exhibited the breed for 3 years.

3. To have ideally attended a Breed Specific Seminar/educational Day and have the support of the Breed Council.

Non Specialist
1. To have been involved and owned/exhibited the breed for 3 years.
2. To have ideally attended a Breed Specific Seminar/educational Day and have the support of the Breed Council.


Qualifications needed to move from the C to B list
Breed Specialist
1.  To have FIVE years experience owning and exhibiting in Scottish Terriers and have the support 
     of the Breed Council.

2.  To have judged 20 classes in the breed at Open or Ch. Shows without CC's.

3.  To have judged approximately 35 dogs in the breed.

4.  To have attended at least ONE breed training day/seminar and passed the Breed Council
     Assessment.

Non- Specialist

1.  To have judged 12 classes in the breed at Open or Ch. Shows without CC's.

2.  Minimum of FIVE years judging experience in any breed and have the support of the Breed Council.

3.  To have judged approximately 35 dogs of this breed.

Qualifications needed to move from the B to A3 list
Breed Specialist
1.  Minimum of SEVEN years judging experience in the breed and have the support of the Breed Council. (KC Policy)

2.  To have judged TWO breed club shows (at least ONE Open).

3.  To have judged a minimum of 100 dogs.

4.  To have bred and/or owned a minimum of THREE dogs (of the breed) when they obtained their 
     first entry in the Kennel Club Stud Book. (Save in exceptional circumstances). (KC Policy)

5.  To have attended at least TWO breed training days.
6.  To have attended a seminar given by a Kennel Club Accredited Trainer and passed the relevant
     examination on Kennel Club Regulations and Judging Procedures (KC Policy as of 1 July 2001).

7.  To have attended a seminar given by a Kennel Club Accredited Trainer on Conformation and Movement
     (KC Policy as of 1 July 2001).
(a) To have attended a Conformation and Movement 'Hands On' Assessment conducted by a Kennel Club
     Accredited Trainer and passed the assessment (KC Policy as of 1 July 2005).
8.  To have stewarded at a minimum of at least 12 days at shows (KC Policy).

9.  To have attended at least ONE breed specific judging seminar run in accordance with the Kennel
     Club Code of Best Practice and passed an examination and/or assessment where applicable.

Promotion is NOT automatic but is by a majority approval of the clubs.

Non- Specialist
1.  MINIMUM of SEVEN years judging experience in any one breed (to include FIVE years in this breed) 
     and to have the support of the Breed Council. (KC Policy)

2.  To have judged at least ONE club show.

3.  To have judged approximately 100 dogs in this breed.

4.  To have awarded CC's in at least ONE other Breed. (KC Policy)

5.  To have attended at least ONE breed seminar.

6.  To have stewarded at a minimum of at least 12 days at shows. (KC Policy)

7.  To have bred and/or owned a minimum of THREE dogs of any breed when they obtained their first
     entry in the Kennel Club Stud Book.

Promotion is NOT automatic but is by a majority approval of the clubs.

A2 list
For persons who fulfil all requirements for the A3 list and who have been assessed in accordance with Kennel Club
requirements and accepted by the Kennel Club for inclusion on the A2 list and have the support of the Breed Council.

A1 list
For persons who have previously been approved by the Kennel Club to award CC's in the breed and have the
support of the Breed Council.
